Al Andalus – Andalusian Route: Malaga – Seville

Guests will be greeted at 10:00 AM in the Club Lounge of the Málaga-María Zambrano train station. Subsequently, we will embark on a city tour of Málaga, including a visit to the Alcazaba, a remarkable palace fortress harking back to the Islamic era. Our midday break will encompass lunch in Málaga. As the day progresses, a comfortable coach will transport us to Granada, where we will be received by the Tren Al Ándalus and its dedicated crew. Upon boarding, a warm welcome and accommodations will be provided. An exquisite dinner will be savored, followed by a peaceful night’s rest in Granada.

Following our initial onboard breakfast, we will embark on a captivating journey to explore Spain’s most renowned monument—a magnificent palatial complex crafted by the Nazari rulers of the Kingdom of Granada. (Please note that the Alhambra visit’s timing may be subject to variations based on factors such as group size, languages, and permissions granted by the authorities overseeing the palace complex.) A delightful lunch will follow this enriching experience. In the afternoon, our exploration of Granada will continue, allowing us to delve deeper into the city’s cultural treasures. As we progress, a delectable onboard dinner will coincide with the train’s arrival in Linares/Baeza, where we will spend the night enveloped in the captivating atmosphere of this locale.

Following the morning meal, we will embark on a captivating journey to explore Úbeda and Baeza, two cities designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our itinerary will include a visit to an oil mill, where we will have the opportunity to partake in an oil tasting experience. Meanwhile, as we enjoy our meal, the train will make its way to Córdoba. Subsequently, we will immerse ourselves in a guided tour of Córdoba, a city that once served as the prestigious capital of the emirate and medieval caliphate of Al Ándalus, attaining eminence as the grandest, most cultivated, and opulent urban center in Western Europe. Our day will conclude with a satisfying dinner and a restful night’s sojourn within the vibrant ambiance of Córdoba.

Following the morning repast enjoyed onboard, we will embark on a visit to the Mosque-Cathedral, followed by a train journey to Ronda. A satisfying lunch will be served onboard during the ride. As the afternoon unfolds, we will explore the remarkable town of Ronda, gracefully perched on a plateau, cleaved by the profound Tajo de Ronda, which the Guadalevín River winds through. Our evening will be graced by dinner at a local restaurant, culminating in an overnight stay, immersed in the enchanting atmosphere of Ronda.

Following the morning meal, our train will reach Jerez, offering us the opportunity to explore a sherry wine cellar and enjoy the renowned “How the Andalusian Horses Dance,” a captivating equestrian ballet accompanied by Spanish melodies. Subsequently, we will relish a lunch experience in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, followed by a leisurely interval. An onboard dinner will follow, concluding our day with an overnight stay in Jerez.

Following the morning meal, we will be transported by bus to Cádiz, a city widely recognized as the “Tacita de Plata” and esteemed as one of the most ancient in the Western world. Our itinerary will encompass a guided tour, allowing for leisure time and a satisfying lunch experience in Cádiz. As the day transitions into evening, we will enjoy a delectable dinner and settle in for the night in Jerez.

As we enjoy our breakfast, we will reach Seville, where we will bid farewell to the crew and embark on a guided exploration of this remarkable city boasting Spain’s most extensive historical center. This World Heritage City is renowned for its abundant artistic treasures and enchanting gardens. Following our tour, a satisfying lunch will mark the culmination of our journey at Hotel Querencia, expected around 5:00 p.m.
