Travelling on the Al Andalus train is like going back in time. Conceived from the start as an exponent of elegance and comfort, its magnificent lounge carriages and its comfortable suites take passengers back to the Golden Age of the foxtrot and sophistication of the Belle Époque. Not surprisingly, carriages belonging to the same series as these that nowadays compose the Tren Al Andalus, yesteryear clattered along the tracks that cross France from Calais to the French Riviera with the members of the British monarchy as illustrious passengers.

Reception of passengers in Seville, Hotel Alfonso XIII, at 10 a.m. Later we will visit the capital of Andalusia, which has the most beautiful monumental site, formed by The Cathedral, The Royal Alcazar and The Archive of the Indies declared World Heritage sites. After lunch, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the city and tour the famous Plaza de España, before boarding the Al Andalus Train. Welcome toast on the train, crew presentation and passengers will be taken to their rooms. Dinner on board, as we head to Mérida, where we will spend the night.
We will start the morning, as every day, enjoying our delicious á la carte breakfast and buffet. Then we will visit Mérida, the ancient “Emerita Augusta” with one of the most important and largest archaeological sites in Spain. Declared a World Heritage Site. Lunch in a typical Extremaduran restaurant. In the afternoon we will return to the train to start our journey to Portugal. Dinner on board and night in Lisbon.
After breakfast, we will visit the Monastery of Los Jerónimos, a World Heritage Site, the Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoverers. We will have a panoramic tour of the city and have lunch in a typical restaurant. The afternoon will be dedicated to the city centre and its neighbourhoods, where we will have some free time. Dinner on board as we start our journey to Porto. Night in Porto.
After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the crew and the train and go to visit Bairro Alto with its Cathedral. Then we will take a boat ride through the Ribera del Duero, a World Cultural Heritage site, to end up in a wine cellar on the banks of the river. Typical Portuguese food in a restaurant in Porto. After lunch around 5:00 p.m. we’ll say goodbye to the group.
